I had the opportunity to preview the new young adult novel,  The Echoing by Jessica Blackburn.  This is her first novel, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but with 5 teenagers and 2 pre-teens, we love our young adult novels at my house so we were excited to try!

The echoing

From the publisher:

“The Echoing by Jessica Blackburn

Rylee has an unusual gift. It brings good luck to those who are kind to her and misfortune to those who are not-at least, that’s what the crazy woman in the woods tells her. But Rylee doesn’t believe it until strange coincidences start happening to her classmates and friends. Her gift may not be a matter of luck but of life and death.”

We read The Echoing and we loved it!  The characters are real and easy to relate to.  The plot is captivating and it pulls you in more and more as you read.  Rylee is a high school sophomore who  has always felt that she was different than everyone else in her small town.  She wanted to believe that she meant for something bigger. But when she finds out she has an amazing power, it seems to be too good to true. Rylee enjoys her new found ability until she realizes the very real dangers that come with it.

My daughters and I had a hard time putting this book down.  If you are looking for a new book that you will want to read with your teenagers, you are going to love The Echoing.

*I was given an advanced copy of The Echoing by Jessica Blackburn as part of their promotional blog tour, but all of the opinions expressed are genuine and my own.
